Scope
Installation

Commissioned by Little Bulat for Festival Budaya Malaysia 2026 at Titiwangsa Lake Gardens, this bamboo installation marks the entrance to the festival’s Chinese pavilion.
The brief called for an archway. We began by asking what it could be made of. Festival entrances often rely on scaffolding or metal trusses dressed with plastic decorations used only once. In collaboration with Studio K, we developed a bamboo framework with simple, practical construction details, using a natural, biodegradable material to give the entrance its form. Recycled timber became components that evoke a zinc roof and kampung timber walls, connecting the installation to familiar local building traditions.
These were not possible without wonderful support and collaboration.
